Peter Bray is the owner/operator of PF Bray Fine Woodworking. He first became interested in Furniture making as a young man in Montreal and subsequently enrolled in a Fine Furniture program offered at John Abbott College. For a number of years Peter worked in the field at various aspects of woodworking, including; early Canadian reproduction, custom furniture making and design, residential and commercial cabinetmaking, upholstered furniture frame making and furniture restoration.
In the early 90's Peter chose to further his formal education by entering a Furniture Finishing and Restoration program offered by Victoria Skills, which became the Malaspina College Fine Furniture program in Victoria British Columbia.
Peter has practiced the repurposing and recycling of materials since the early 80's, realizing that something old can be made new and therefore has value. He believes that this concept can be applied in many contexts. It is for that reason that Peter is a firm supporter of the Furniture Bank's vision.
Over the course of his woodworking career, Peter has had the good fortune to hone his craft under several fine Mastercraftsmen in various shops, broadening his woodworking knowledge.
